Can anyone explain why actual rank and average rank can be so different? I'm in a Yahoo league, and its not uncommon to see one number be twice the other. For example, today, Carlos Santana is ranked as follows:
30/14/7 day actual ranks = 45/59/155
30/14/7 average ranks = 109/127/246
I know the average will be very different if the player has far more or far less at bats than normal, but I keep seeing this for guys that seem to have a normal number of at bats. It makes sense for someone like Aybar, who is just back and is hot so his 30 day average is super high. I just don't get it? Thanks
