Plouffe for a closer WHIR

Postby germani40 » Thu Aug 09, 2012 7:50 pm

In a 12 team league where we keep up to 16 per season. I am 6.5 games out of a playoff spot in a 6x6 league. R/HR/RBI/AVG/OPS/NSB W/L/ERA/WHIP/K/NSV. Got offered Plouffe for either Rafael Soriano or Jim Johnson. I am carrying 5 closers but its more because none of them are great. The bolded guys below are the guys I am planning on keeping. Havent decided on the last couple yet.

So do I do the deal? If so which closer do I deal.

1B Billy Butler (KC - 1B)
2B Ben Zobrist (TB - 2B,OF)
3B Mike Moustakas (KC - 3B)

OF Shin-Soo Choo (Cle - OF)
OF Curtis Granderson (NYY - OF)
OF Travis Snider (Pit - OF)
Util Jason Kubel (Ari - OF)
Util Eric Hosmer (KC - 1B)
SP Cliff Lee (Phi - SP)
SP Felix Doubront (Bos - SP,RP)

I'd rather Soriano. More wins = more save opportunities.

Keep Soriano. Trade Johnson for Plouffe.

I feel like you could get more value for your stud closers than Plouffe. The guy really isn't that special. Please answer mine.

I think Plouffe and his flexibility and nice season would be worth it considering your saves surplus.

TRY and do some recon on a different deal with other teams to see if you can get more before you move one of them (any of them)

Someone in the hunt who needs saves may pay more but if you strike out send Soriano for Plouffe, Soriano more cause of his injury history (at times)
