I was just offered Michael Bourn and a 2013 5th round pick for Felix Hernandez.
A 5th round pick means this guy would only be able to keep 4 players next year, and I would in all likelihood have the first overall pick of the draft (this year David Wright and Madison Bumgarner were the two top guys on the board by my rankings.)
Essentially this 5th round pick is like getting an extra keeper.
Hate to lose Felix but does that 5th round talent, plus Bourn, make it worth it? Keepers would likely be Cabrera, Kinsler, Sandoval, Tulowitzki, Hamilton, Cain and then 2/3 of Bourn, Morse and Gallardo. Unless another trade is made.
Current standings:
1. 111.5
2. 106.5
3. 96
4. 95.5
5. 88
6. 86.5
7. 86
Outside chance I could make the money (top 4) but the way my team has been playing lately doesn't make me very confident. Took a 4 pt. day yesterday to get me up to 6th place. Losing Felix would likely hurt this year (struggling in W/L and Ks but good in ERA/WHIP.) Bourn could potentially add a few points on in SB alone though.
