Trying to hold on 1st place WHIR

Postby wingman3110 » Wed Aug 08, 2012 12:54 pm

12 team 5x5 roto redraft

I am currently in 1st place and I have been hit big by the injury bug lately that I had to cut Alex Rodriguez and Matt Garza. Somehow though this make shift of an offense is keeping it together for me while my pitching is carrying me. I am dominating every pitching category currently, and leading in batting average and stolen bases. But I am middle of the pack in RBI's and 2nd to LAST in home runs. So basically im looking to move a starter for a big bat.

I was just offered this yesterday...

I get: Andrew McCutchen and Freddie Freeman

I give: Justin Verlander and Paul Goldschmidt

Do I take it?

My team:
C- Buster Posey
1B- Paul Goldschmidt
2B- Jose Altuve
3B- Pedro Alvarez
SS- Danny Espinosa
OF- Carlos Gonzalez
OF- Adrian Gonzalez (1B)
OF- Shane Victorino
UT- Dexter Fowler
Bn- Cameron Maybin
DL- Pablo Sandoval
DL- Ian Desmond

SP- Justin Verlander
SP- Cole Hamels
RP- Santiago Casilla
RP- Jose Valverde
P- Aroldis Chapman
P- Wilton Lopez
P- Paul Maholm
Bn- Matt Moore
Bn- Mat Latos
Bn- Clayton Richard
DL- Brandon McCarthy

I say no b/c outside of Hamels, there's no one thats consistent that will get you a ton on wins. Latos can be dominant, but as we've seen several times this season, he can be dominated just as easily.
