Who is the San Francisco closer to own? WHIR

Postby jeffro10 » Tue Aug 07, 2012 11:57 pm

Santiago Casilla is currently on my roster. Romo is taken, but Affelt is available. Should I keep Casilla or switch to Affelt?

Tough call. I think I would stay put with Casilla for now. But I agree with Quimby that it looks like Affeldt has jumped over Romo.

Well Affeldt has pitched much more effectively this year than Casilla overall. And from what I can tell from the Giants organization, Affeldt is one of the most respected guys on that team.

I have to figure if Casilla falters even a little bit more, Bochy will hand the duties over to Affeldt.

Although, this is pure speculation, so there is no right answer here.

It was reported yesterday on Rotoworld that the it is a closer by committee now, and the committee includes Affeldt and Romo. Not Casilla. Apparently he will only be used in the 7th inning or in a set-up role from here on out.

I just dropped Casilla for Affeldt. I think he has the upper-hand on the job since Romo has done so well in the set-up role this season.
