I am the commissioner of a yahoo private league, we like to use outside forums to see if we are being objective about current trades that should be vetoed.

12 player league, with these stats: R,H, HR, RBI, SB, OBP - W, S, K, ERA, WHIP

This is the current trade that is under consideration for veto:

Yu Darvish (Y! Rank 334)
Joe Nathan (Y! Rank 120)
Wandy Rodriguez (Y! Rank 272)

for

R.A. Dickey (Y! Rank 9)
Chase Utley (Y! Rank 947 - 31 Games Played)

Other considerations: Our league is extremely streamer heavy, an idea of current available FA pitchers:
Lincoln, Worley, Arroyo, Morales, Blanton, Bailey... to give you an idea of the level of available players.

Also hopefully when evaluating this trade you will take into consideration who Chase Utley is, and that his rank is reflective only of the amount of time he has played and not of his actual performance.

Given the following information would you veto this trade? Is it even close? Please explain briefly if possible.

Dont see an issue here. Dickey has played so well but its possible Darvish and Wandy may be able to outproduce him the rest of season, then its Nathan for Utley so to speak and considering Nathan has had a solid year and Utley cant play every day/is a health risk etc

The Dickey owner might be able to get "more" in return as Dickey has gone for a lot in trades but cant veto for not getting "max return"

Not veto-able in my opinion.

Nathan has been very dependable and Wandy is a pretty decent pitcher himself. Dickey has slowed down considerably and Utley isn't the Utley of old.

Yeah, no issue here. Going by Y! Ranks is a terrible idea. They measure past performance only. If a manager thinks Yu Darvish is going to put up Cy Young numbers for the rest of the season, that's his business.
