I am holding onto Michael Pineda in my 12 team no limit keeper league. However, would I do better to drop Pineda and pick up one of these options instead?
Taijuan Walker Zach Wheeler Danny Hultzen Matt Harvery Jake Odorizzi
My current pitching staff looks like this: Daniel Hudson Michael Pineda Tommy Hanson Matt Moore Dylan Bundy Doug Fister Dan Haren
Taijuan Walker is the only one I'd consider. And I'd be leaning towards doing the swap. Pineda coming back healthy is not a sure thing and Taijuan is basically were Pineda was 2 years ago, minus all the whispering about possible injury concerns.
The rest of the prospects listed are generally not considered to have ace upside.
Full disclosure: own Pineda and Odorizzi in a league.

Love me some Walker. I think I would make the move. Odds are pretty good that Pineda will be available in the later rounds of all but the deepest leagues.

I like any of those options, sans Ordorizzi. I think all will see considerable ML innings this year and next and Pineda is unlikely to come back until after the ASB and even then there is no guarantee that he wont be sent to the minors for the rest of this year. I also agree that I would drop Fister and most likely Haren to secure Walker, Harvey and Wheeler, Hultzen would be fourth on my list. Haren has had back problems recently and the Nats have options in the minors should he falter. I think the upside of Harvey/Wheeler is greater than any return you may get on Haren for the first half of the season before both of them are pitching in the majors.

Sounds right to me. Either of those 3 could headline a rotation and there's no guarantee Pineda comes back as his former self, plus he's still pitching in a launching pad.
