Justin Upton
Brett Lawrie

I get:
Ryan Braun
Austin Jackson
Roy Halladay

At first blush, this trade appears very lopsided in favor of the other team. Am I correct in that analysis? And if so, how could this trade be changed in order to be made more fair using the same group of players. Obviously the key player I am trying to acquire is Braun. I do not have much need for Halladay, as he is on the downside of his career anyway.

All players involved in this trade could be kept indefinitely.

I don't understand why you'd make this trade at all.

What McCutchen has shown this year, is that he's at least equal to Braun, and moving forward in a keeper league, I'd prefer him to Braun based on age. Upton and Lawrie are both exceptional keepers as well. The Yankees did not believe in Austin Jackson, and I am not in his bandwagon yet either. Halladay is in his age declining years.

Certainly if you removed McCutchen from the deal, I would suggest trading Lawrie and Upton for Braun. I don't know if that would get the deal done, but in no manner should you trade McCutchen.

Upton and Lawrie for Braun is a fair deal in my opinion. Your getting the superior consistent talent, and he's getting two high ceiling guys that aren't nearly as dependable.
