Need to shake things up in my OF...WHIR

Postby esper » Mon Aug 06, 2012 11:25 pm

I'm in a 14 H2H league, and my OF is pretty weak at the moment. Colby Rasmus and Matt Joyce just aren't cutting it. I usually try to ride the hot hand in my Util spot, which I have Rajai Davis going at the moment - but that changes from week to week (add/dropping). Should I cut ties with Rasmus or Joyce? Or Both? Here's my roster:

C - Carlos Santana
1B - Justin Morneau
2B - Neil Walker
3B - Evan Longoria
SS - Asdrubal Cabrera
OF - Carlos Gonzalez
OF - Alex Gordon
OF - Colby Rasmus
Util - Rajai Davis
BN - Matt Joyce
DL - Joey Votto
DL - Alex Rodriguez

SP - Jered Weaver
SP - Mat Latos
SP - A.J. Burnett
SP - Jake Peavy
RP - Fernando Rodney
RP - Ernesto Frieri
BN - Chris Capuano
BN - Alfredo Aceves

Here's some OF who are available (sorted by Yahoo's "rank")...

Dexter Fowler
Denard Span
Michael Saunders
Carlos Gomez
Scott Hairston
Norichika Aoki
Gerardo Parra
Tyler Colvin
Dayan Viciedo
Kendrys Morales
Raul Ibanez
Gregor Blanco
Brennan Boesch
Carlos Lee
Cameron Maybin
Todd Frazier
Coco Crisp
Bryan LaHair
Delmon Young
Emilio Bonifacio

Carlos Lee caught my eye. Thoughts?

I'd stick with what you have to be honest. Those guys have more potential than any FA I saw there.

Can you try to swing a trade?

Stick to your guns. Patience grasshopper...The WW doesn't have the upside of the player you'd drop.

Target an OF'er with HR potential. That is what I see you could use...

CarGo Jr (Carlos Gomez) has been red hot. I think you should definitely find room on your roster for him. I am also hearing that Bonafacio will be ready once eligble from the DL. He's having a good year and his speed never slumps.

I am not really a fan of Joyce. I would cut him and add Bonifacio (the potential return is higher in my opinion). Rasmus has slumped recently, but when Bautista returns the additional protection he provides Rasmus will GREATLY help him. Hope this helps.

Help with mine?
