Does it make sense for me to deal Carlos Beltran to acquire R.A. Dickey? In second place, 5 games back of 1st.

I would not deal Beltran for Dickey...I think you are fine...you are where you are at in the standings for a reason, don't go changing that for a pitcher who is not elite.

Yeah, I know. But I still want more pitching because this league is intense and the guy in first has some arms that have kept him where he is, including the following:
Strasburg Zimmermann Gio Gonzalez Tim Hudson Kyle Lohse (I refuse to believe he keeps this up forever) Scott Diamond Wandy Rodriguez Ross Detweiler Valverde, Soriano, JJohnson
Another guy who is in 6th right now has a formidable staff with:
Verlander Price Cueto Josh Johnson Wade Miley Matt Moore Jon Lester Clippard, Stammen, Wilhelmson, Romo
The teams whose pitching I have listed above don't have nearly the offense my team has. However, the guy with Verlander and co. has a ton of singles, triples, SB types (so he is basically punting power) -- and he's remarkably tough to beat when his pitching is on.
There is a team I have good trade relations with who has Ian Kennedy and AJ Burnett. Would either be worth targeting? Alternately, the guy with Dickey also has Lance Lynn.

Could capitalize on Lincecum's latest surge by adding him in a deal with Beltran to acquire a true ace? You have 4 guys on the DL that you're going to need to clear space for eventually too. At this stage you should look at nothing for 2 for 1 deals.
Hitters don't know how to hit his pitch, it's a pretty easy equation for being acknowledged as an ace. They just swing helplessly and walk back to the dugout with a smile on their face.
And the argument I hear a lot is "Oh well this is the first time he's pitched well..." False. The last two seasons have been excellent as well, now he has just perfected his knuckler to which he has pristine command and misses bats as much as the Verlanders and the King Felix's of the world.
The guy is an ACE. You can surely rely on him to put up just about the same dominant numbers through september, I'll be the first to put money on it.
And for the record, I have not hopped on the band wagon simply because I'm an owner of his. I really believe in this guy.
Do you guys feel confident enough in Papi and Bautista returning healthy such that I can safely deal Beltran? I mean, it seems like it's just so up in the air.
