Should I trade for HanRam?

Postby alex_bazeley » Mon Aug 06, 2012 4:22 pm

His owner tells me that he is desperate to make the playoffs and that I can have HanRam. Should I take the bait or not? He's not having a great year, but I could use the upgrade at shortstop. Should I go for him? I could probably find a way to incorporate his Hosmer into the deal as well (I'm a Hosmer believer) if it changes anything. I could give him Halladay because my starting pitching is locked down. My team and his team below.

My team: C - Mauer, 1B - Rizzo, 2B - Cano, 3B - Lawrie, SS - Andrus, 1B/3B - CJohnson, 2B/SS - Espinosa, OF - JUpton, CarGo, AGonz, Mccutchen, Choo, UTIL - Marte, BENCH - Votto, BENCH - Gomez, DL - Bautista, SP - Halladay, Kershaw, Weaver, Hamels, Lincecum, Haren, Moore, RP - Papelbon, Betancourt, Motte

His team: C - Pierzynski, 1B - Hosmer, 2B - Kipnis, 3B - Moustakas, SS - Reyes, 2B/SS - HanRam, 1B/3B - Youk, OF - Reddick, Cespedes, Davis, Quentin, Crawford, UTIL - Howard, BENCH - Utley, Ackley, Joyce, DL - Grandal, SP - King Felix, Garza, Scherzer, Milone, Nolasco, Gio, RP - Cook, Janssen, Wilhelmsen

Make him make the first offer. Tell him that you're interested at the right price and see what he comes back with. Obviously, Halladay for Hanley would be a steal. Haren for him makes a lot of sense if it's pitching that he needs.
