The Jays are hopeful that Bautista (wrist) will be able to return before the end of the season despite his latest setback, the team's official site reports. Recommendation: Bautista felt some discomfort in his wrist while attempting to swing a bat earlier this week and backed off on his rehab at the advice of his hand specialist. He had originally hoped on a speedy return, but that's out the window. We'll have a better idea on his status when he attempts to swing again, but those in weekly formats will want to stash him on their bench this week. "We don't feel and I don't think Jose feels his season is over," manager John Farrell said. "But at the same time we don't want to rush something that ends up causing further damage and potentially leads to something else being needed." http://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.htm?id=7318
The Blue Jays have been down right junk this year when it comes to injuries, giving quality diagnosis, and getting them on the field. Santos went from out for a few weeks to done for season, Morrow has a hamstring strain that has cost him 2+ months. I'm half tempted to just cut Bautista at this point.
My advice is don't listen to anything the Jays say about injury status. Maybe that doesn't help much, but they have a history of being less than honest. For some reason they think being secretive and mysterious is a big strategic advantage. Mostly it's just annoying.
The Jays never said anything about the Brandon Morrow injury other than it was a "wait and see" situation. I don't think the Jays are trying to fool anyone. Just being really unlucky with injuries this year.
Bautista (wrist) will have another MRI as he's still experiencing discomfort, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports. Recommendation: While the result of that MRI will likely determine a course of action for Bautista, there's still growing doubt about his availability going forward this season given the very slow progress thus far. Dudes toast.
I concur. My keeper league squad wasnt going to be close to winning anyway. Theres always next year, the slogan of the O's.

I have him in a keeper league but his contract is up so he has no value left for me. I wish they'd announce he is done so I can cut him and move on.
Ugh, this guy is definitely a goner this season. Losing him just threw my changes at winning my league out the window. Of course, losing Ruiz, Johan, Colon, and Berkman was also not helpful.
I'm just happy he went on the DL before the trade deadline in my keeper, I was able to get rid of him to stay in contention this year. It was a tough call for next year, but I got a haul (Cliff Lee, Grienke and Jansen) so I had to take it.
