In 3rd trying to make a push!!

Postby TitsMcGahee » Sun Aug 05, 2012 6:26 pm

10 Team, 5x5 roto league non keeper trying to make a push to take 1, 2nd or 3rd. Currently tied for 3rd. My team drastically needs good pitching, and not sure what to do. Currently receiving 10 pts for runs, 6 hr, 10 RBI, 1 SB, 8 AVG, and pitching categories: 6.5 Wins, 8 saves, 4 K's, 5 ERA. I need to find a pitcher that will get me K's and ERA, and preferably some Wins. Should I construct a trade? Also available starting pitching on the WW: Carlos Villanueva, Jason Vargas, Edison Volquez, or Phil Hughes. My team is:

Buster Posey (C)
Eric Hosmer (1B)
Dustin Pedroia (2B)
Aramis Ramirez (3B)
Alexi Ramirez (SS)
Corey Hart (CI)
Dan Uggla (MI)
Alex Rios (OF)
Austin Jackson (OF)
Carlos Gomez (OF)
Hunter Pence (OF)
Carl Crawford (OF)
David Freese (UTILITY)
Trevor Plouffe (DL) Bench
Matt Joyce (OF) Bench
A ROD (DL)
Tulowitzki (DL)

Roy Halladay (SP)
Jon Lester (SP)
Jeff Smardizja (SP)
Gio Gonzalez (SP)
Anibal Sanchez (SP)
Johnny Cueto (SP)
Fernando Rodney (Closer)
Casey Janssen (Closer)
Tom Wilhemsen (Closer)
Jared Burton ( 1/2 Closer, Added for Parnell)

I know you said you need W, but adding a stud closer may be the best way to lower ERA and add K. W are so unpredictable and out of the SP's control most of the time so chasing those is hard to do successfully.
If I were you, I'd look to trade a SP (Lester, Smardjia, Sanchez) and 3B, 2B (not Uggla...he has no value right now) or a speed-OF (I'd keep AJax, but all others would be OK to move). You are kinda thin in your "O" due to injuries...I know the feeling.
