So A-rod seems to be out for the entire regular season. He wont be back till mid September. I think its time to make some moves. Drop A-rod, and who do I pick up?? Also my nerves are wearing thin on Shaun Marcum, he has been out since mid June, and there is no real time table for when he will return. Do I drop him too?
FA/WW Options: Nick Markakis (OF) ; Danny Espinosa (SS,2B) ; Garrett Jones (1B,OF) ; Chris Johnson (3B) ; Roy Oswalt (SP) ; Josh Collmenter (SP,RP)
Note: Not many options on FF/WW. Anyone know of any players coming back from injuries, maybe that I could nurse back to health on my roster? If not any suggestions? Maybe I overlooked someone?
*Indicates Keeper Batting: C: A.J. Pierzynski 1B: Joey Votto * 2B: Rickie Weeks 3B: Kevin Youkilis SS: Asdrubal Cabrera OF: Matt Kemp* ; Mike Trout ; B.J. Upton Util: Mike Aviles (3B,2B,SS) Util: Alex Rodriguez BN: Nick Swisher BN: Alejandro De Aza BN: Desmond Jennings
Pitching: P: C.C. Sabathia*; P: Justin Verlander ; P: Mat Latos; P: Ryan Dempster ; P: Shaun Marcum ; P: Max Scherzer ; P: Jonathon Niese ; P: Chad Billingsley ; P: Freddy Garcia ; RP: Fernando Rodney ; RP: Chris Sale(SP)
The two I like the most from the ones you listed are Markakis and Espinosa. Plus you could use the help with Weeks struggling so much. I would keep Arod but drop Aviles and Marcum.
Well if you drop Aviles and Marcum and add Markakis, I think you might also want to drop Jennings. This opens up space so saving A-rod won't hurt much.
A-rod gives solid production and is still a top 10 3B. With the extra rest, there's no reason to think he can't continue producing in September.
I like Markakis and Espinosa as well...If ARod can come back for part of the reg, season, then I would hang onto him if possible...if he is definitely out until the post season then I would drop him
I agree with that.... I don't want to drop Aviles, as he has been playing very well, and is extremely versitile in the field (2B,3B,SS). Marcum seems like a drop to me, so maybe I will add Markakis. I usually like doing SP for a SP, but there really is not much on the FA/WW. I also hate having a bunch of hitters on the bench, as I find it hard to alternate and pick who starts at UTIL between 3 guys, depending on the matchup.

Second part is true, but he's batting .224 with 2 HR and 1 SB (11 strikeouts) since the All-star break. He's already been dropped in almost 30% of ESPN leagues b/c he's slacking.
I agree for the most part but I would also keep C.Johnson in mind. This guy is hitting like crazy and is in a better hitters ballpark now so.....he was hitting well with Hou (especially the latter part before the trade) and now with AZ he is dominating. Not sure why people never mention these guys who are consistanly hitting well (especially after being traded) and whom say themselves they feel great and have people hitting around them making it easier, etc....I grabbed him in 3 of my 3 leagues and he has been piling up the STATS for me....
*Keep AROD if he can still play for you this season as I am assuming this is not a keeper league*
I'd drop A-rod. He's been dropped in my league and nobody (including me) has picked him up b/c nobody wants to waste a roster spot for someone who may play just a couple weeks at the end of the season.
I like Chris Johnson right now. He's on fire. When he cools off, you can dump him. Espinosa is okay. His hot streak appears to be winding down, so be cautious with him. Gets steals, but if not hitting well, he'll kill on the average. Markakis is also solid, but I certainly prefer Johnson at this very moment.
