In a H2H keeper league (You can keep 12 each year), I was offered Brett Lawrie, Matt Garza and a 2nd round pick (after keepers this ends up being a top 75-100 ranked guy in next years draft)....I would give up David Wright and Alex Rios.
My thinking is that I am selling really high on Wright in a long term keeper league right now and Lawrie, starting next year, will likely surpass him in value. Rios is an obvious sell high guy right now, we all know he wont show up next year...again.
Let me know what you think? Take Lawrie, Garza, and a top pick?
Nope, I'd stick with what you've got. You've got a very solid staff as is and you lose the best player in the trade. Furthermore, Wright's only 29 so it's not like he's over the hill or anything.
This trade is no good for you. Rios isn't reliable, but his numbers this season dictate a certain level of respect that you aren't giving him. I'm fine with you trading Rios, but you can do better than this.
Hey guys...so far it seems like people don't favor this trade. What would you think it would take for you to make it? I am really interested in grabbing Lawrie from him.
Wright for Lawrie and a pick?
Should I ask for another pick? He also has Josh Johnson, Lance Lynn, and Yu Darvish for pitchers of interest. Additionally he has Stubbs and Markakis available at outfield.
To do this deal, I feel he needs to give you a premium for Wright plus if he wants Rios I think you need to get a SP with fewer question marks than Garza. I'm not positive that guy is JJohnson given health, but in some ways, I do prefer him to Garza regardless. So I'd target him or hold Rios in the deal. I do like Rios as a sell-high though, so with Johnson and a top pick I think u can do it.
I agree with KingofSports. Wright is better than Lawrie and rather have Rios as opposed to Garza. I don't think the pick is enough to make up the difference.
It's not a bad deal, you deserver more though. Definitely a better SP then just Garza.
If you are trying to win this year, you def need to keep Wright and Rios though. If you are just selling of for next season, ask for a better keeper SP then Garza. Or just another draft pick.
So I rejected the offer and he came back with the same offer with 2 more picks top picks (4th and 5th round along with the 2nd round). I think I am going to take that. I think the gap between Lawrie and Garza vs. Wright and Rios is certainly 3 top picks. You guys agree?
Also post your question and I will give you my input
