Dynasty trade - opinions wanted

Postby tossitaround » Thu Aug 02, 2012 9:47 am

16 team dynasty (25 man roster we keep all 25)

offered the following trade:

My team trades Chase Headley. & Jimmy Rollins

For Aramis Ramirez, & Ernesto Frieri,

H 2H format with one more week until playoffs start my team is in the hunt for the 8th and final spot

I have a huge need for saves but am ok in the other cat’s

My other SS is Ryan Theriot

As an after-thought - also threw in...

Trade from my prospect roster Grant Green SS

for their prospect Aaron Hicks OF

I have Lindor down on the farm but he is a few years away in helping my big club

ARam will get you more production than Headley will so you win on that end. I would try to get another closer. While Frieri has been very good until last night (gave up 3 runs in the 9th), he only has 12 saves on the season and only 2 saves in July (One on the 27th against Tampa and then the save before that goes all the way back to the 5th against Baltimore). If you can get a more active closer, do the deal.

what about my SS dilemna - losing Rollins (top 10 SS) and keeping Theriot? This is where my hesitation comes in

Theriot might be losing some ABs to Scutaro, but if not, his batting average isn't terrible (just under .270) and he does have a little bit of speed with 12 steals.

While you gain in average and remain near the same in steals, you do lose a considerable amount of power and runs. IF Theriot can remain in the lineup in bat 2nd like he has, he should score more runs with Hunter Pence now in the lineup.

Are there any other SS available either via trade or waivers?
