I'm going to leave the trade speculation alone, and hope that today's CV is rich with whatever trades ultimately subside discussion, disgust, revelation, gloating, postulation, debate, and steadfast belief.

Theo Epstein shipped Geovany Soto off to Texas, and both Reed Johnson and Paul Maholm off to Atlanta. From what reports are saying, he's offering Alfonso Soriano to anybody willing to listen, and everybody either doesn't want him, or he's refusing to go play there (I'm looking at you San Francisco). He's asking for a bucket of balls, and still, no one bites. Maybe he's able to ship him off before today's deadline. Who's next to go in the Chicago Garage Sale? Dempster? Garza? Theo is all like...

Blue Jays trade Travis Snider to the Pirates for Brad Lincoln.
Then AA traded Thames to the Mariners for Steve Delabar (no he didn't play for the 76ers).

This trade immediately launches the Jays into pennant contention.

Dom Brown just got scratched from his AAA lineup and is reported to be headed to DC to join the Phils. Anyone holding anything resembling hope for Brown anymore?

I'm assuming this is in response to the upcoming Victorino trade. THis will leave Philly with Pierre, Pence, Mayberry, Brown, and Nix in the OF. I'm not sure who else plays CF in that bunch. I think Mayberry has some experience. Pierre also played CF. I imagine he and Mayberry will do some platooning in center to give Brown a shot at some PT in left, with Nix giving the occasional spell to Pence in RF?

They are just going to trade the entire OF and let Brown play all 3 spots going forward.
