Acquire Lincecum?

Postby Fantasy GM » Mon Jul 30, 2012 4:48 pm

12-team H2H points league, a team offered me the following:

My team gets: Lincecum, A. Sanchez, Longoria, (best of) Cook/Betancourt/Street

My team gives: Halladay, Hanson, Lawrie

We keep up to 4 players after the season, Longoria is probably the only keeper involved (unless Lawrie really heats up). But will he make an impact when he returns? Is Doc going to continue being mediocre? And will Lincecum improve or is he a waste for the rest of the year?

Thoughts on the deal?

I'm not a fan of Lincecum for the rest of the year. But I like that you're receiving probably the best keeper (Longoria) in the trade. Still, I'd find a way to slim that back a little if you can. You're giving up quite a bit. Pieces you might be able to trade elsewhere.

Too many players involved. No saying what will be of either Lincecum or Halladay. Also depends on who else you have on your team and how this leaves you for the remainder of the year. I agree with the The Thrill, scale it back and just try to get Longoria in the cleanest trade possible.

My team is currently at the top of the standings trying to solidify a playoff run. We also keep up to four guys at the end of the year, and a healthy Longoria would certainly be one of the four. The other team won't make a trade unless Halladay is involved, so it's either a deal like this or no trade.
