Fun keeper choices (WHIR)

Postby rjforlife » Sun Jul 29, 2012 10:50 pm

Sold my team off for keepers, now I have to narrow down my top 6 so I can truly lock down my best 6 and possibly trade some others. So, rank 'em. Cost is for 2013 season, 10 team Standard H2H, $260 budget. If you rank/pick the top 6-10 that would be great. Drop a link, I'll respond.

Ian Kinsler- $24
Brett Lawrie- $10
Starlin Castro- $10
Edwin Encarnacion- $5
Jason Heyward- $17
Alex Rios- $5
Austin Jackson- $5
Eric Hosmer- $10

Craig Kimbrel- $10
Madison Bumgarner- $10
Chris Sale- $5
Ian Kennedy- $10
Stephen Strasburg- $10
Matt Harvey- $5
Joe Kelly- $5
Hultzen/Wheeler- $5
Goldy is King.

I like Kinsler $24, as your STUD keep, however you got some others with big upside for 2013, on cheaper contracts.

Hosmer $10 - man I am really dissapointed in his season to date, HOWEVER I really like his upside for 2013, Votto "light"?
Lawrie $10 - only way to go for him is "UP" automatic keep
Castro $10 - only going to get better, and a (SS) sign me up
Encarnacion $5 - signed an extension that leaves him hitting in the Rogers center for 3 more years, keep him at that value, even tho he loses 3B eligibility
Sale $5 - can't go wrong with that value
Strasburg $10 - STEAL

I generally like to keep "batters" then "pitchers" hence why I selected 4 batters and only 2 pitchers. You would not be wrong with keeping one of Kimbrel or Bumgarner at those values instead of Hosmer, depends on how much you like and think Hosmer will rebound next year.

So far, roughly

1. Encarnacion- $5

3. Strasburg- $10
4. Lawrie- $10
5. Castro- $10
6. Kinsler- $24

Where would you rank the following 2 attainable keepers?

Granderson- $12

I agree with a previous responder that you have a some good value here, and thus here's what I'd do:

Pitchers:
Strasburg
Baumgartner
Sale

Hitters:
Castro
Lawrie
Encarnacion

At $12, Adam Jones would have strong consideration over one of either Sale or Baumgartner. You can usually find decent pitching in the draft and during the season--easier that solid hitters.

Can you help me? viewtopic.php?t=451088

Ian Kinsler- $24
Brett Lawrie- $10 ;-D
Starlin Castro- $10 ;-D
Edwin Encarnacion- $5 ;-D
Jason Heyward- $17
Alex Rios- $5
Austin Jackson- $5
Eric Hosmer- $10 ;-D

Craig Kimbrel- $10
Madison Bumgarner- $10 ;-D
Chris Sale- $5 ;-D
Ian Kennedy- $10
Stephen Strasburg- $10 ;-D
Matt Harvey- $5
Joe Kelly- $5
Hultzen/Wheeler- $5

I like these 7 the most and probably would leave out Lawrie or Hosmer believe it or not. I don't think you can throw back Bum at that price as well as Straus. And Sale is a steal at 5 bucks.
