Keeper League - Which SP has to go?

Postby The Thrill » Wed Jul 25, 2012 1:03 pm

Deep Keeper League (20 teams, 23 players per team). This is our 7th or 8th year (something like that, I've lost track of time).

Tim Hudson has been dropped to the FA pool. I have a pretty high WW priority. I'm thinking of picking him up since I have a chance to win it all this year. Of the list below, which SP would you drop? (standard pitching cats)

Marco Estrada
Roy Oswalt
Jeff Francis
Alex Cobb
John Danks
Drew Hutchinson
Tim Hudson (i.e. this option would mean I don't pick him up)

I'm thinking of dropping Drew Hutchinson. He's on the DL (I can move Andrelton Simmons to the DL if I drop Drew). Hutchinson is the least established and the least well known of the group. And I may be able to pick him up in the future.

I still like Cobb in a keeper league even though he has struggled mightily so far this year. Oswalt's on a good run so far. Same with Estrada. Danks is young enough yet he could turn it around. And Francis, well, I'm not too big on Francis, so I could consider dropping him as well.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Yeah its definitely between Francis and Hutchinson. It's tough to decide b/w the two though, Hutchinson is only 21 years old. So he is still has some potential. Francis is 31 years old, so he is near the end of his run.

Hutchinson pitches in the AL East, which is incredibly hard. Francis pitches in Colorado, and we all know about how hard it is to pitch there.

I would ultimately drop Francis, just due to his age and the fact that he pitches in Colorado.
