Quick help taking advantage of ARod injury

Postby garretterik » Wed Jul 25, 2012 2:04 am

Guy in my league has ARod and Votto and needs bats.
I just traded away CC for Kemp, so need some arms. Trade will go through on Saturday (also just dropped Gose for Parker).

I offered this guy Rizzo for Gallardo last week and he rejected it.
Obviously I am interested in Strasburg, Gallardo, Kuroda, and Motte from his team. What is a fair, but lower offer for one of my 3B? Also which one would you want to try to shop? A couple of weeks ago I would have thought Freese, but he has been on fire.
1. Should I try Middie or Freese?
2. What do I want in return? Is Gallardo enough?

Definitely try to trade Middlebrooks first. He won't be enough for Gallardo. Maybe start by asking for Kiruda and Motte. If he bites, perfect. If not, act like it's a huge loss to do Middlebrooks for Kiruda straight up and he'd probably bite. Hold on to Freese for sure.

You definitely have room to lose a 3Bmen. Hanley and Sandoval would probably net you a frontline starter, while Middlebrooks would net you a Kuroda type. Depending on how long Tulo is on the shelf, giving up Hanley might be your best option...he's a shell of his former self, but people love the name...you could definitely get a steal. That being said Middlebrooks and Rodriguez would more than likely get you Kuroda and Motte...which would be a win for you.
