4th round Justin Upton + Buchholz
for 7th round Weaver

both teams in playoff contention, players being acquired are positions needed for both teams - fair deal for both, or is one team crushing the other?

Aside from trotting my previously mentioned spot start of Joe Kelly, today I'm also chucking Ian Kennedy vsCOL, Jeff Samardzija @PIT, and Mat Latos @HOU... I'm really hoping for the best... :-°

I'm lower on Weaver than seemingly every other person I talk to, and I wouldn't even consider taking Upton and Buttholes for him. Yeah, Upton's been better over the last month, but I'd still demand a much safer bat in return for a guy who should get to face Oakland and Seattle a bunch down the stretch.

kinda what i figured. suppose i'll have to offer either a better OF or a better SP.
knew i shouldve traded Upton in the offseason :-C

I guess I missed the Rockies/Royals trade with Jonathan Sanchez for Jeremy Guthrie.
poor Royals. give up Melky Cabrera for Sanchez who really sucked! then give up Sanchez for Guthie, who also really sucked!

Colby Lewis done.

Colby Lewis was diagnosed with a torn ligament in his pitching arm and is expected to undergo season-ending surgery.
The exact nature of the injury isn't yet clear, but there are whispers that he will require Tommy John surgery. Lewis returned from the disabled list last week and allowed one run over five innings against the Athletics, but the pain in his forearm lingered. It's a terrible blow for the Rangers, as Lewis has a solid 3.93 ERA over 80 starts since returning to the United States in 2010. Martin Perez will take his place in the starting rotation in the short-term, but the Rangers figure to be on the market for pitching help leading up to the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.
