Vogelsong/Wandy for Wainwright/Lewis

Postby jeffro10 » Sat Jul 21, 2012 2:33 am

New here, would really like to get some help and help others in the future!
H2H non-keeper 5x5 standard league

3 scenarios on the table:

He has already offered:

I get: Vogelsong/Wandy
I give: Wainwright/ Colby Lewis

I was thinking about accepting as is, but am waiting on his response to my counters:

I get Vogelsong/Wandy/Matt Holliday
I give: Wainwright/Colby Lewis/Jason Kubel

OR

I get: Vogelsong/Tommy Hanson/Holliday
I give: Colby Lewis/Jarrod Parker/Kubel

So, should I go with any of these trades? If so, which is best?

My current roster (I like to keep a low bench for hitters and many pitchers to start):

C Yadier Molina
1B Billy Butler
2B Ian Kinsler
3B Kevin Youkilis
SS Trevor Plouffe
OF Josh Willingham
OF Yoenis Cespedes
OF Ryan Bruan
Util Anthony Rizzo
Util Jason Kubel
BN Mike Napoli
DL Troy Tulowitzki

SP Matt Cain
SP Zack Greinke
RP Jose Valverde
RP Santiago Casilla
P Rafael Soriano
P Mark Buerhle
P Ryan Cook
P Colby Lewis
BN Adam Wainwright
BN Scott Diamond
BN CC Sabathia
BN Jarrod Parker
BN Tim Lincecum

I don't like the original trade, as I think Wainwright and Lewis are much better than Vogelsong and Wandy in the long run. At least Lewis plays for the Rangers to get some of those wins in the right matchups, while Wandy plays for the pitiful Houston. He could be traded, but it's dangerous to gamble on that.

The second trade looks a little better with Holliday in the mix, but the third trade will not be accepted most likely. It's too much for you and not enough for him, I feel.

Basically agree, though I don't like trade three for him at all. I guess it's because I am not a believer in Hanson. Trade 2 looks fair, but Holliday has been beasting lately so he may not accept. Worth a shot. I do prefer both Wainwright and Lewis to the pitchers you're acquiring though.
