Roy Oswalt just average now?

Postby Ronniebegood » Fri Jul 20, 2012 5:30 pm

So Roy Oswalt is on my waiver wire. I'm contemplating picking him up but I'd have to drop someone like Scott Diamond or Bud Norris. Is Oswalt no longer the pitcher he used to be? Has the AL affected him that much? Any thoughts or advice would be great, thanks.

I'm in a head-to-head points league.

My squad is:

C Joe Mauer
2B/SS Jimmy Rollins
2B/SS Derek Jeter
1B/3B Albert Pujols
1B/3B Adam LaRoche
OF Nick Swisher
OF Melky Cabrera
OF Alfonso Soriano
UTIL Jacoby Ellsbury
UTIL Josh Reddick
RP Craig Kimbrel
RP Jonathan Papelbon
RP J.J. Putz
RP Ryan Cook
SP Ben Sheets
SP Clayton Richard
SP Wade Miley
SP Michael Fiers
SP Scott Diamond
SP Stephen Strasburg
SP Ryan Vogelsong
SP Wei-Yin Chen
SP Bud Norris
DL Gavin Floyd
DL Andrew Cashner

He really doesn't look like a top-flight ace anymore; however, if you are in hot pursuit of wins, I could see him putting it together and being more of an asset on that front than Bud Norris.

can you help me out please?

I would dump Norris for him, but Oswalt is just average at this point...playing in a hitter friendly park does not help his age

This. And Oswalt hasn't been the same for a while now. I want nothing to do with him in that park. I'd spot start him on the road though against some weaker clubs.
