I have 2 trades in works..need help WHIR!!

Postby Eastman19 » Fri Jul 20, 2012 10:49 am

I was offered Kemp for Shields, Bell and Colby Lewis on one trade...I want to do this trade especially if I get this other trade done with it.

On another trade I was offered Hamels and Morse for either Lee or Strausburg and Dunn and Francisco Rodriguez....I am in a H2H weekly points league and we have 5 more weeks in regular season and with 3 weeks of playoffs. How long or how many starts do you think Strausburg has? or do you think he will keep pitching? Other owner seems to want Lee but I was thinking of unloading Strausburg because of limit.

This is a Non Keeper league. WHIR always please leave a link.....

I think you would be paying a little too much in the Hamels trade since Dunn is likely more dependable for power than Morse at this point. However, it's not enough to keep you from doing it. No idea about innings limit for Strasburg, whereas with Lee you don't have to worry about it. Send Strasburg ... he's not too far off from Hamels anyway.

If you can then get Kemp for the pieces you outlined then I would make it happen. Rolling with Kershaw/Hamels/Lee/Sale/Wainwright should serve you fine.

Like the Kemp trade , don't like the second trade either. If I did do the second trade I would give Strasburg because of the innings limit .

Yea get kemp! He is especially good in September for some reason.
2nd deal, hmmm unload Strasburg, he will be shutdown. Their GM announced it will be his sole decision, meaning he will shut him down because it's in the interest of business, he has to protect the player(asset). If it was up to the manager or player then he would play the whole season.

Go with the Kemp deal ... those are honestly spare parts in the grand scheme of things.

You're basically giving up spare parts for Kemp. I'd do that in a heartbeat. Not crazy about the 2nd deal though.

I'd make both trades, here's why:

1. The first trade doesn't even deserve comment. Just click accept and enjoy your 2nd half production from one of the best hitters in baseball.

2. Strasburg will be shut down. Hence he's useless to you after a certain point and if you're in the playoffs, this hurts big time. Hamels will pitch the rest of the year and their values are relatively comparable. Dunn has more consistent power than Morse but can't seem to hit about .220. Morse gives you more consistent overall production and will be a better pair with Kemp. The loss of KRod is a bummer but he's on your bench so... it doesn't really matter does it?

I'd make them both but I wouldn't fault you if you passed on the second as the value might not seem fair in your mind.

Love the Kemp deal. Do that.

The second deal is fine too IF you send Stras. He's going to be shut down. I hate it because he's on my team, too.

Thanks for help with mine.
