Think about picking up VMart just to have as an option while waiting for next year. If he looks to begin the season in around April, keep him. However, if he'll be out longer just roll with Willingham, Marcum, or Wainwright. I don't think keeping Ruiz for $6 is a good idea.

You think Dickey has more life in him next year? Grandal?
I also picked Shelby Miller in draft and kept him all year. You dont think he will make a splash?

I say with the year he's having, you have to give Dickey the benefit of the doubt for next year. Grandal has always been a well thought of prospect, so if he gets the starting job for next year his upside would be worth the gamble. I like Shelby Miller, but I bet you could get him for cheap next year since he's had a setback in promise.

Very true, I think your right. As far as Grnadal its just hard to keep a Catcher as a keeper but I will definitely see how it goes into next season. What about a guy like Mike Minor, Mesoraco, Jaime Garcia

What does Wainwright cost? Him, Sale and Jansen are your best three keepers. Wainwright has been getting better and better and when he is fully healthy, he can be a top 5 SP and Cy Young candidate. I agree that you probably have to keep Dickey. The cost is affordable and he has just been too good to not see if he can sustain it. I think I would then grab VMart and keep him. There just isn't much else worth keeping that is better. Miller is struggling in AAA and can probably be had at a similar price next year. Grandal isn't anything special yet and I hate keeping catchers. Macurm is interesting but I think I like VMart better.

All three is a no unless Minor has a phenomenal second half. Wainwright at $10 is something to think about ... I like him more than Gordon at $10 right now. Whether he's worth keeping over Grandal is open for debate, but if Wainwright has at least a good second half then you probably have to keep him over Grandal. He could be a great ace at $10.

Agree completely. One thing that may throw a wrench into your plans is that VMart has discussed playing before the end of this season. If that happens, he will DH and could lose catcher eligibility for next season. Even at the keeper price, it's worth the potential production at another position.
