Kemp/Cain Trade

Postby quaker1771 » Wed Jul 18, 2012 8:27 pm

deep keeper league (16 teams, 32 players +5 MILB), thinking about giving Kemp and Yunel Escobar and Danny Hultzen for Matt Cain and Yu Darvish and Jason Motte. I have plenty of outfield and, while i have Stras, Doc, and Wainwright i have very little depth (Porcello, Fiers, Harang, Nova, Lucas Harrell). Also, I just had John Axford get demoted

Not a high enough price for Kemp IMO. Hultzen isn't as good as those other two SPs upside-wise, but I'm pretty sure in a year or two I'd still rather have one of the game's best hitters and a No. 2 starter than Cain and Darvish. It's not a terrible deal, but I wouldn't be doing it.

BTW, welcome to the Cafe! Great to see a new face 'round these parts ;-D

Not sure if you looked at my roster, but i should have mentioned this. The rest of my outfield is Hamilton, Heyward, and Holliday (plus Bautista, Cano, Tex, and Molina), and adding cain and darvish would give me a top 5 pitching staff of Strasburg, Halladay, Wainwright, Cain, and Darvish, as well as turning Lucas Harrell and Michael Fiers into supporting pieces rather than people i count on every week
