It's a 12-team, H2H, dynasty/keeper league. 10x10 format. Keeper league is keep full team (dynasty), and every fourth season we keep only 4 batters and 2 pitchers. We are in year 2 since the last partial redraft, so I'd have two years to go with the full squad before being cut down to keeping on 6 players. My thought process is upgrading the 2B position, and using the available open space to pickup a few prospects for next season (e.g., D'Arnaud, Profar, Machado, Bundy, Shelby Miller, Hultzen, Taillon, etc. etc.).
My team is as follows:
C - JP Arencibia 1B - Justin Morneau 2B - Ian Kinsler SS - Alcides Escobar 3B - Miguel Cabrera OF - Colby Rasmus OF - Jason Kubel OF - Nick Markakis UT - Kevin Youkilis BN - Kendrys Morales BN - Carlos Lee BN - Torii Hunter BN - Dustin Ackley DL - Troy Tulowitzki DL - Evan Longoria
SP - Roy Halladay, Yu Darvish, Josh Beckett, Clay Buchholz, Roy Oswalt, Ben Sheets, Francisco Liriano, Ubaldo Jimenez, Jarrod Parker RP - Casey Janssen, Bobby Parnell DL - Brandon Morrow NA - Gerrit Cole
12-team, H2H, Keeper Keepers: Miguel Cabrera, Ian Kinsler, Troy Tulowitzki, Evan Longoria, Roy Halladay, Yu Darvish
Kinsler is just playing for money this year and could get hurt(I beleive hes on steroids). Darvish will eventually get figured out like all asain pitchers. Morneau is a dud. Beckett is awful. Id say make that deal then go pick up hultzen immediatly
I think you are overpaying. I like Cano but I don't think he is one Darvish better than Kinsler. If you want to pick up some prospects, then drop Morneau or Beckett but no need to give up quite this much for Cano.
On a side note, a lot of those prospects are unlikely to see much time next year. D'Arnaud is the most likely to have an impact while guys like Profar, Machado and Bundy are likely to still be limited in the big leagues.
