Hi all: Just noticed K-Rod was named the Brewers new closer.
I'm in a 10-team, standard 5x5 league and I've got Kimbrel, Jansen, and Street as closers. However, to add a guy like K-Rod, I'd have to drop one of the following guys: Utley, Lawrie, Berkman, or Zobrist. Is it worth it?
My team is Posey, Howard, Zobrist, Youkilis, Hanley Ramirez, Holliday, Kemp, Ad. Gonzalez, Ethier, Utley, Berkman, Lawrie, Harper, and Starlin Castro.
I would not drop Lawrie for K-Rod. Keep in mind that this closer role might not be permanent, things can change. If you are desperate for a closer then I'd rank who I'd drop as Berkman, Howard, Utley, and Ethier in that order.
You could trade Lawrie for a much better closer if you really wanted but I wouldn't advise doing that either.
I might think about dropping Berk before Lawrie. Do you have a spot for K-Rod to get you nightly points or will he be on the bench? Either way, I probably pull the trigger on Berk.
I hear ya, I drafted him this year, picked him back up, and dropped him again when he went back on DL. I just honestly don't see him lasting very long anymore.
