Drop for Haren? WHIR

Postby finman54 » Tue Jul 17, 2012 5:47 pm

I have faith that he can regain form after getting this little rest, but who do I drop for him? I need to keep up as far as starts on the extended week go, we're capped at 14 GS. Can have 7 SP, and with Morrow on DL I only have 6 at the moment, so I can drop a reliever or position player. I know the first names to come up are going to be Bailey and Storen, but I am firmly in the playoffs barring a complete meltdown, so I would like to keep them if possible, or at least the one most likely to be closing come playoff time. My immediate gut-check thought was Storen because of his role on the Nationals when he returns from the DL. After that, I'd consider Napoli or Jennings. I guess I'm down on Napoli because of his low .avg. However, he can get hot and A.J. get cold pretty quick.

Personally I'd try to get a 2 for 1 done as I don't think any are really that droppable. You've (as have I) kept Storen rostered the entire year, why drop him now? I'd rather drop Bailey if I had to.

Utley would be my next drop, but like I said, I'd try and get a 2 for 1 where you get an upgrade and you end up with Haren.

Mine please?

You really dont need 2 catchers, but they are both beasts so I dont know which one I would drop. Napoli is a better hitter imo but he is struggling as of late. And you really dont need two SS's, but they are both too good to drop as well. IMO.

I really dont see anyone you could drop. I would try and do a two for one trade then pick up Haren if he is still available.

What about Wilhelmsen? He only has 3 saves in the last month.
