Harvey was the 7th overall pick in 2010. He throws a fastball that sits around 94 and touches 97. His best pitches are the fastball and curve. Scouts have differed on their assessments of him; one scout said his fastball, curve and slider are all plus pitches. His changeup is below average but improving. His biggest issue is command. He's probably worth a pickup in a deeper league. It's hard to see him having great success this season with his command issues but he's got good stuff and should have decent strikeout numbers to go along with a decent ERA.
Mets prospect right-hander Matt Harvey gave up two runs over 6 2/3 innings Monday with Triple-A Buffalo. With Mets general manager Sandy Alderson and special assistant J.P. Ricciardi in attendance, Harvey didn't give up a hit over the first five innings. He ended up allowing three hits and four walks while striking out three and hitting a batter. The 23-year-old right-hander now has a 3.34 ERA and 106/46 K/BB ratio over 105 innings at the Triple-A level this season. Miguel Batista is still a possibility to start Saturday against the Dodgers, but we would be surprised if Harvey didn't make his major league debut.
likely getting the call for Saturday. one of the few prospects not already in yahoo. can't pick him up for Saturday anyway.

Yup, that's driving me nuts as well. I wish yahoo would update their system. Harvey was ranked in the top 35 in the latest BA rankings. Come on, yahoo!
Matt Harvey won't make his MLB debut Saturday. The Mets were considering promoting the 23-year-old right-hander but have opted to go with veteran Miguel Batista instead. Harvey should be up at some point this summer.

Like who? All the top guys are in the system already. Taijuan Walker isn't, but he's not sniffing the majors this year. James Paxton, maybe, but he's not a better prospect than Harvey at this point. Christian Yelich, maybe. Oscar Taveras is another possibility.

Yeah, was thinking Yelich or Taveras since I need younger hitters but I'll probably just be safe and go with Harvey
