In a head to head 11 team league. Should I drop Montero for Perez? Also, I just made a trade that I had to give up Andrus, but got JJ hardy as part of the deal. Should I keep him or pick up a FA. SS: Furcal,Mike Aviles,Escobar, Alexei Ramirez?
Current Roster: missing an outfielder due to trade I could not refuse, Im going to make a trade for one. C Miguel Montero, Ari C 1B Mark Teixeira, NYY 1B 2B Jason Kipnis, Cle 2B 3B Miguel Cabrera, Det 1B, 3B SS J.J. Hardy, Bal SS OF Matt Kemp, LAD OF OF Michael Bourn, Atl OF OF Shin-Soo Choo, Cle OF OF UTIL Anthony Rizzo, ChC 1B SP Clayton Kershaw, LAD SP SP Zack Greinke, Mil SP SP Jake Peavy, CWS SP SP James McDonald, Pit SP RP Chris Sale, CWS RP, SP RP Chris Perez, Cle RP Bench James Shields, TB SP Bench Mike Moustakas, KC 3B Bench Mat Latos, Cin SP Bench Ian Kennedy, Ari SP
I'd rather have Montero, so I think staying put is the right move there. One thing I'd try to do is move one or two of your corners for an upgrade there or at another position. Mous is too good to be on your bench, but has to sit in favor of Tex, Cabrera and Rizzo right now, so maybe package to upgrade a starting spot. Maybe SS? I think you should dump Hardy for Escobar's hot hand in the interim, and then shoot to improve one of your few week points on offense. As for Kennedy, he's crap compared to the rest of your rotation right now, but I wouldn't cut him loose just yet without a good reason - he's still a decent source of Ks and has some upside to improve. Who would you consider dropping him for?
Thanks for the reply. I did not have anyone in mind of who I was going to pick up if I was to drop Kennedy. I was just curious because it would open up a bench spot for me so I could possibly pick up a OF FA.I am probably just hang on to him and try and put him in a trade. I am planning on packaging possibly a pitcher and a hitter to help my OF or SS. Thanks again for the detailed response.
Unless you mistyped and meant J, I would not drop Miguel Montero for Perez. He's struggling like the entire DBacks is. On the other hand, if you meant J Montero, I would advice dropping him for a piece of chewed up gum if you can get it. J Montero is a big bust. Moving him to Seattle reminds me of what happened when Beltre signed there before rejuvenating in Bos.
