16 team, 24 man roster, auction league with 310 dollar cap, can keep as many players per year as you would like, points league with starting pitching favored a bit. I am currently 5-9 most likely not going to make the playoffs this year but I have won 2 weeks in a row and am winning this week so far, so who knows? Anyway, have been offered the following:
Carlos Santana(25), Justin Morneau(7), Justin Masterson(4) for my Buster Posey(25), AJ Burnett(4), and Bud Norris(6)? What is best for me?
I don't see much of a point in this trade, personally I wouldn't take it because I think Posey is better than Santana, you already have Hosmer in at 1B who is going to be a star in the coming years, and Masterson doesn't seem like a major piece in the deal although he is younger than Burnett. If you could find a way to swap Burnett for a younger pitcher try that, but I wouldn't trade away Posey if I were you
The way I see it, you're dropping down in catching, getting an extraneous 1B, and a tossing 2 pitchers away to get a mediocre one. Unless you have a buyer lined up for Morneau or Hosmer who is willing to pay big, you're best off saying no.
I have to agree with the other guys. I think you'll be better off by keeping your current roster. It's always fun to wheel-and-deal, but sometimes we have to stick with what we have. Hope this helps.
