My Lester for Ian Kennedy? Dynasty. WHIP

My Jon Lester
for his Ian Kennedy

I'm in a 12 team dynasty league. Where we keep all players indefinately. It's a 5x5 Roto that RUN SUPPORT DOESNT MATTER! It's a QUALITY START LEAGUE. Age really isn't a big deal here as they are almost exactly 1 year apart in age. Lester obviously has a better track record, but has shown some diminished k/rate for the past several years. Kennedy is 1 year younger, and has pretty good seasons the last 2 years. However, this year, they have almost identical stats,.. and they are both pretty bad.

Who has a better chance of turning it around this year?
Who will be better for the rest of their career?

I honestly might prefer Lester. In theory, that team will be healthy and he will see some more steady run support. Granted, Bos has been scoring runs. But I think he has to turn it around some. Kennedy seems fundamentally off (see yesterday vs the Cubs).

run support doesnt matter, as i stated in the post we are a QS(Quality start) league not a W(WIN) league.

Who does everyone like in the short term, and in the long term?

Honestly, I would hold on to Lester. He's been a bit of a mess this year, but he has great potential. I roster him every year that I can because I think he's magnificent when he brings his A-game. Not sure why he's struggling so far, but I would place my money on him before Ian Kennedy. Just my opinion. Thanks for your help earlier.

To be honest, I don't like either.

Kennedy just got dropped in my league by someone and Lester doesn't dazzle me. I'm a Yanks fan so I might be biased against Lester there.

Lester is probably the better bet but Kennedy doesn't have the AL East to contend with.

I like Kennedy for now and the future. He's got better rates in the minors and has been great as a starter for the D-backs. Lester is in Boston. Enough said.

Go with Lester, he's getting better run support and has Jacoby back and in a few days Pedroia as well to help him even when he's having a bad start. He has been bad but I think he could turn it around in this second half and make it a decent season

Thanks for all the help so far, looks like we have a couple for lester and 1 for kennedy, but 2 of the lester supporters still didnt read the OP,.... RUN SUPPORT DOESNT MATTER! It's a QUALITY START LEAGUE, ru support doesn't make a difference in a QUALITY START.
