Darvish & Zobrist for Grandy & Moose (WHIR)

Postby redskincow » Thu Jul 12, 2012 6:19 pm

Below are players involved in trade and pts YTD..I am looking to improve at SP without sacrificing too much on offense.

Trade: Grandy (233), Moustakas(199), and Weeks(153)

Get: Darvish(255), Zobrist(235), Blanco(152)

....As you can see from my team at the bottom of the email I am desperate for SP help.

Another option is Alex Gordon(192) & Moustakas (199) for Freese(177) and Darvish(255)...is that better?

Another option that might work is:
Trade - Weeks and Granderson
Get - Cliff Lee and Dan Uggla

I like Mous for a long time. Take the Cliff Lee/Uggla deal.

yeah that second deal seems more equitable for you... when i first looked at the deal and saw the principles involved, i thought whoever was giving up the granderson/moustakas package was getting hosed.

the only way i'd look at that original trade as a + was if i could keep yu darvish for a few years. i think he's a nice keeper to have going forward, seeing as he's pitching this well in his rookie year with texas as his home stadium. after a rocky start he's settled down nicely over the last month and a half and his K numbers are very encouraging.

at the same time, now's a great time to get in on cliff lee, keepers notwithstanding. his value is about as low as another 4.26/1.30 type seaosn could get him

Given your need for SP I'd say that deal is solid. Is Freese healthy? Haven't heard much on him of late. Gordon is/will continue to heat up but I like Darvish for the run support.
