3rd place through 13 weeks

I'm in a 10 team non-keeper league H2H with HR, TB, RBI, SB, AVG, OPS, QS, W, SV, ERA, WHIP, K/9. Its a weekly league so all roster spots lock the monday of each week. I just made a trade to get beltre and was trying to decide if my team was strong enough to move me into the top 2 (im about 10 back from second). Any suggestions such as trade targets would be appreciated.

Wow, honestly, I would ditch SPs practically all together. There are 3 pitching categories that are on averaged based (ERA/WHIP/Kper9). I would load up on closers and middle relievers with great k/9 rates. You will dominate in saves, era, whip, k/9.

I am not sure if there is an innings mininum for the week or not but if there isnt I would only use RPs. You can have 1 RP go 1 inning get 3 ks and no era and no whip. And you can bench the rest of the guys and win in WHIP ERA and K/9. Id trade all your SPs for RPs or upgrade hitting

I take it that there are 3 required SP positions and two flex P positions. If that is the case I'd do what kingdon says and get middle relievers or closers in there.

Weakest link is 2B - Kendrick has been a disappointment this season. He does have ability to turn it around but I would look at upgrading there. Howard is expendable once he has returned and in the swing of things, that is your bait.

I agree with Hendrick being a disappointment, however youve got to love where they have him in that lineup. There is just so much potential there that if he can get back on track his numbers should vastly improve

thanks for the input everyone! There is a pitching minimum of 15 IP and I am aware about 2nd base as my big weakness but I've been sitting on him for the reason stated by kingdon. I have been active in trades (thats how I got pujols and beltre) so hopefully howard can get it going and I can move him for a need easily.

I would dangle Howard/kendrick for a 2b Upgrade and use
one of your SP' as well. I would keep only 3 SP's in Latos/Dickey/Gio
and move Niese and Harrison between those 3 you will get your min IP
and QS
