Guys Coming Off DL - Clear Room? WHIR

Postby sigriffey » Wed Jul 11, 2012 2:14 am

What's a good strategy for clearing room to activate these DL guys?

I mean Rasmus and a Moustakas are definitely cutable. U may not like the decision, but from the players coming off the DL, they are much better than those 2. Also in all honesty that guy is somewhat right. The way Lincecum has been playing he is garbage. But yeah it is extremely hard to drop a guy who used to be called "the freak". Maybe try and package a 2 for 1 deal trade, like Lincecum and Moustakas for _____. It's never fun cutting guys u liked and play well for the better ones coming off of the DL. Good Luck!

Looks to me like you have to cut Montero and Moose. I prefer only having one catcher, and MCab is your everyday 3B, meaning no need for Moose.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

I think you can cut any of the ones bolded below:

C Salvador Perez
1B Prince Fielder*
2B Jose Altuve
3B Miguel Cabrera*
SS Hanley Ramirez*
OF Ryan Braun*
OF Austin Jackson
OF Adrian Gonzalez
UT David Ortiz
UT Colby Rasmus
UT Mike Moustakas

BN Jesus Montero
BN Carl Crawford (DL, traded for Jeter but was vetoed, due back some time?)
BN Giancarlo Stanton (DL)
BN Dustin Pedroia* (DL)
DL Jacoby Ellsbury (due back 7/13)
DL Emilio Bonifacio (due back 7/13)

SP Clayton Kershaw
SP Cole Hamels
SP Zack Greinke
RP Rafael Soriano
RP Aroldis Chapman
P Chris Sale
P Tim Lincecum
P Tommy Hanson
BN Derek Holland
DL Roy Halladay (Due back around 7/17)
DL CC Sabathia (due back 7/17)

As a side note, I'd try to package David Ortiz and Austin Jackson for another pitcher. Their value is never going to be higher. Remember -- sell high, buy low.

I do not see why you have to cut anyone? Can't you just move Stanton and pedoria to the DL when Jacoby and Bonifacio come off it and therefore you do not have to trade anyone... you can just decide in 3 weeks when pedroia comes back and worry about it then. If you must drop people I would probably drop a Catcher whichever has less value to you and not sure who else... but do not drop Moose he has too much value... I rather trade him to a guy who needs a 3B rather then just dropping him.
