Give my Lee/Holiday for Bruce/Ortiz in a dynasty? WHIR

Postby LARS929 » Tue Jul 10, 2012 1:43 pm

12 team dynasty H2H league, 6x6 with BBs for hitters and K/BB for pitchers as the extra cats.

Every player is kept along with a 7 man minor league roster where the player must be called up at the start of his second season, or can be sooner.

I'm in first place by a decent margin, but have been pretty lucky because my team hasn't been all that good, and I have been injury riddled.

Here's the trade:

I give up:
Cliff Lee
Matt Holiday
2nd round pick in the minor league draft (each team can keep 7 Minor leaguers, but any 2012 draftees, or international FAs can't be kept and will be in the draft)

I get:
David Ortiz
Jay Bruce

My MLB Team:
C. Alex Avila (May drop for Salvador Perez)
1b. Miguel Cabrera
2b. Howard Kendrick
3b. Pablo Sandoval
SS. Emilio Bonifacio (expected to come off the DL this week)
MI: Alcides Escobar
CI: Ryan Howard
LF: Matt Holiday
CF: Shane Victorino
RF: Bryce Harper
OF: Nelson Cruz
OF: Alfonso Soriono
Util: Peter Bourjos
Bench: Nick Markakis
DL: Giancarlo Stanton
DL: Dee Gordon

SP:
Zack Greinke
Jon Lester
Cliff Lee
Hiroki Kuroda
Travis Wood
Marco Estrada

RP:
Addison Reed
Chris Perez
Santiago Casilla
Bobby Parnell
Brett Myers

Minor League Team:
Billy Hamilton
Zack Wheeler
Nick Castellanos
Carlos Martinez
Tony Cingrani
Trevor May

I never been in a league like yours but I wouldn't do that deal. I think Lee will have a better 2nd half. I'm not a big fan of Ortiz now that he is older. Bruce is ok.

I wouldn't do it, Lee will bounce back and Ortiz's eligibility can be annoying sometimes. Bruce is nice but Holiday is better and still has a few good years left in him.

Thanks for the help on mine...I am not that aware of how a league like yours works, but based on facts, I would stay put...Though I like Bruce and think he out produces Holliday in the coming years bc of age...I dislike Ortiz a lot...Keep what you have. Maybe deal Holliday for Bruce.

want to help me out again?

I would not do this trade... Holliday is way more consistent then Bruce and I think Lee will be better then Ortiz the rest of the way.
