I have a prospect draft coming up with the 3rd overall pick. I figure these are the 3 players I will target with one of them dropping. I can't see anyone going above them. Maybe it's just me but the college pitchers don't spark much excitement for me. The only pitcher I would even consider at #3 would be Giolito.
I have a little bit of concern with Correa because I really don't need another 3B if he gets switched in the future. I already have Miggy, Hanley, Sano and possibly Bogaerts at 3B.
OF could really use some youth infused into it. I have Jason Heyward and a bunch of guys who will go back into the draft. My prospect OF's leave a little to be desired. I have Domonic Brown who just can't turn that corner and put it all together. Then youngster Josh Bell of the Pirates who has been injured for much of the year.
Now as far as my SP goes it's a work in progress. I have ace Matt Cain holding down the top spot. Chris Sale who has been outstanding. Then we get into a lot of question marks. At the moment i'm using James Mcdonald as a #3. Has he turned the corner and worth a keeper spot or would I be reaching. Ricky Romero has fallen on hard times and I can't even start him at this point. Last year he was a top 20 pitcher in our league.
Then that brings me to my youth at SP. I got uber ace in the making Trevor Bauer. I have Taijuan Walker and Jose Fernandez who both look like top of the rotation players. Carlos Martinez who isn't far behind.
Then my aces up my sleeve the injured Michael Pineda and Brett Anderson. It's hard to say what i'll get out of them to start the season. But I full expect great things out of both in the future. Giolito would be frosting on the cake. But it would be some nice frosting.
So with everything considered do you take one of the bats or gamble on the young arm?
I like Buxton the most. Considered the best talent in draft, he reminds me of Mccutchen. Soler next, but i do like Correa, but i see him going to 3B in future.

I agree with Havok about the order and reasoning, however I would not be remotely considering Puig at #3 and maybe not at #14 as he is older, missed a full year, scouting reports before were not exactly glowing, and his bonus was inflated due to the rules governing how much money teams can offer international free agents after this month.
You need to remember that there are a lot of guys with raw tools among recent draftees I would prefer at #14 over Puig that could be available like Lucas Giolito, Courtney Hawkins, Richie Shaffer, and Marcus Stroman.
Probably take Correa. I'm not that sure on the bat but from what I've read he's a good bet to stick at short and shortstop is very shallow now a days in both the majors and minors. It won't take a ton at SS to be valuable.
