Evan Longoria - Most would say yes! But this guy has been very injury prone. I just don't know (not to mention he was not even kept last year in my league) Justin Upton - Again Most would say yes! But he is having a terrible year coming off of his injury....... Will he bounce back? Mike Trout - Honestly my favorite! Putting up keeper numbers. Is on a very decent team to drive him in, awesome speed. What can't this 20 yr old do! Did I just say 20 yrs old! Thats keeper material. But will he stay consistent after this year?
Pick ONE..................... (and maybe why you chose that person over the others)
My order would be: 1) Trout, 2) Longoria, 3) Upton. I've had Longoria and his injuries are very frustrating. And I don't think the value is there for Upton like for Trout.
For me it isn't even all that close between Trout and the other two...He may come back down to earth with an adjustment period, but the kid is a stud. I expect him to be the top pick in fantasy within the next few years.
As for Longo and Upton, those are two guys who are annually overrated. Longoria because he is always hurt and seems to never put up the great numbers you'd want from him. And Upton because he is really good, but will probably never be an elite player, especially if he leaves Arizona, one of the best hitters parks in baseball.
If you are not going to keep Longo I think this trade is great because it does not matter as he will be out through August possibly and will do you no good this year. Verlander is a fantasy stud and having him will be unbelievable for you especially only giving up J Upton and Beckett for him and Longo for Arod and BJ Upton. That is how I look at this trade and I would do both of those trades especially since you will get production now out of Arod and BJ instead of Longo who you will not be keeping (plus hes been injury prone) and you are getting the best pitcher in baseball (IMO) for a struggling star (who again you will not be keeping) and an older starter who has shown not too many signs of being great this year. I would do the deal if I were you.
