Q: how do you set dynasty auction keeper values years 2/3/4?

My Dynasty League (CBS) allows you to sign players to contracts. We have options for 1,2,3 & 4 year contracts. The 1 year contract retains the salary from the prior year. The 2 year contract increases the players' salary $4 each year of the contract. A 3 year contract increases the players' salary $3 each year of the contract. And the 4 year contract increases the players' salary $4 in year 1, $3 in year 2, $2 in year 3 and $1 in year 4. We also have CAP Penalties associated with these contracts to deter owners from signing every player to long term deals and dropping them when things go bad. There is no penalty for dropping a player on a 1 year contract. The 2 & 3 year contracts carry a penalty equal to the amount the layers' salary increased for each year remaining on the contract (i.e. if in 2013 player X was dropped while in the 2nd year of a 3 year deal, the owner would be penalized $3 of Cap Space in 2013 and then $3 in 2014). The 4 year contract penalty is reversed, so an owner who drops a player in the last year of a 4 year deal is penalized $4.

the contracts seem cool but too much work...i agree i should impose the $5 increase each year instead of every other so we'll be addressing that.
we have voted to protect 7 keepers next year from 4...draft is tonight and can't wait.
