1st place team, thinking about making moves?

Postby carrythezero21 » Tue Jul 10, 2012 12:52 am

hey everyone, currently in a 12 team yahoo league and im in first at the break. categories are: r, h, hr, rbi, sb, k, tb, avg, obp, ops, xbh (11 batting cats) w, l, k, whip, era, cg, s (7 pitching cats). looking at possibly making a move at a buy low player, specifically tim lincecum or jacoby ellsbury, to help me down the stretch. also thinking about trading a couple of players who i think could have a chance at falling off in the second half (plouffe, desmond (not sure if he can sustain, hammel) or trading one of the 3 ss eligible players i have (desmond, plouffe, bonifacio). any input is really appreciated and of course, whir.

this is my current team:
c - buster posey
1b - joey votto
2b - brandon phillips
ss - ian desmond
3b - ryan zimmerman
of - justin upton
of - shin soo choo
of - ben zobrist
util - paul konerko
bn - trevor plouffe
bn - eric hosmer
bn - giancarlo stanton (dl)
bn - emilio bonifacio (dl)

sp - zack greinke
sp - madison bumgarner
rp - jim johnson
rp - chris perez
sp - gio gonzalez
sp - jason hammel
sp - mat latos
sp - yovani gallardo
bn - matt moore

You could try to package Konerko and Desmond and maybe an outfielder for a higher end OF. If there's anyone you're not sure about for their second half I'd trade them now before the second half starts and try to get them away to teams lower in the standings for bigger names.

Lincecum could be a very big buy low candidate so if you can get him for dirt cheap and are willing to possibly take on sub par performance go for it.

Also, is there any players on the WW or FA that you're interested in by any chance?
