Help me trade for Kershaw or Grienke. WHIR 100%

Postby footballisbetter.com » Mon Jul 09, 2012 6:42 pm

This is a 10 team h2h league. 10x10. There are a lot of good hitters on the WW. We are capped at 40 transactions for the season, and some guy is already capped out. So now he is trying to make trades, since he can't add free agents.

He put Grienke, Kershaw and Strasburg on the block. I want to try to get one. I love Strasberg but this is a redraft and his possible inning cap has me looking towards one of the others.

This owner has stated that he is interested in Sandoval, but It would need to be a 2 for 2, or 3 for 3 trade.

My team:
C- Weiters
1B- P Fielder
2B- B Phillips
SS- A Ramirez
3B- Lawrie
OF-C Hart
OF- Choo
OF- J Upton
U- Sandoval (1B/3B)
Bench- A Pagan
DL- Tulowitski, Bonafacio (SS, 3B, OF)
SP- Josh Johnson
SP- J Zimmerman
SP- B Myers (SP/RP)
SP- Cueto
RP- Aceves (SP/RP)
RP- R Soriano
RP- Janssen
Bench- T Hanson, Haren, Wainwright, J Parker

His team:
C- McCann
1B- Swisher
2B- A Craig
SS- Aviles
3B- Beltre
OF- Trout
OF- Melky
OF- J Bruce
U- M Young
Bench- Grandel, Utley, Middlebrooks
DL- Ellsbury
SP- Strasberg
SP- Kershaw
SP- Grienke
SP- Matt Moore
RP- Kimbrel
RP- Frieri
RP- Motte
Bench- Worley, Cashner
DL- Morrow

Here are some of the FA's on the WW. Plenty of hitters, not too many pitchers.

A Gordon, Hosmer, Moustakas, Goldschmidt, Furcal, De Aza, Kubel, Hardy, Stubbs, B Gardner, Colvin, P Alvarez,

Offer up Sandoval and Corey Hart for Kershaw and then if he accepts, go for Goldschmidt or Alvarez on the wire.

I would offer up Sandoval plus Hanson for Kershaw or Greinke + any player (this guy can be dropped for a better free agent, so it doesn't matter).

His team really only needs a 1B upgrade on the hitting front. So offering him 2 hitters may not work out so well unless he wants that specifically. And if you move your DH in Sandoval, you can pickup whoever you like from those free agents. A Gordon, Hosmer, Moustakas, and Goldschmidt would all work well IMO.

Thanks all.

Question- is there really that much of a difference between Kershaw and Grienke?

In a H2H league, I'd rather have Kershaw come playoff time. He has an easier fantasy playoff schedule, I believe.

I rather have Kershaw definitely... More upside plus I think he is way more consistent.

Help with mine:

Completely agree here. Kershaw has the much better playoff schedule and much better upside. Can you help me out? viewtopic.php?t=450230
