Trade for Lincecum? WHIR

Postby yolksfolks » Thu Jul 05, 2012 9:34 pm

8 team H2H, not keeper league.

When Kemp comes back from the DL after the break, I will have an excess of productive hitters. I will have to bench two of the following guys on any given night, which I really don't want to do:

Edwin Encarnacion
Pablo Sandoval
Jay Bruce
Adam Jones
Mike Trout
Austin Jackson

I was thinking keep one extra guy in case of injury, and then an opponent of mine is offering me Lincecum for basically any hitter. Is it worth taking a gamble on him? I'm in first by a couple of games and will almost definitely make the playoffs. Pitching staff is Cain, Felix, Kennedy, Latos, Dickey, Peavy, Vogelsong, Garza.

Can't decide whether to offer Bruce or Jackson.

Dont offer jackson. He is in the top 10 in average and scoring a lot. With Miggy and Fielder behind him he will continue to. Also he will help you as detroit are contenders. If I were you, I think I would offer encarnacion.

Thanks. I should have mentioned that runs scored isn't a category in my league (offense is HR RBI SB AVG OPS). Jackson's really only getting me those last two categories with occasional steals, while Encarnacion is contributing significantly in 4/5 with some steals thrown in.

Oh okay. Well jackson loses some of his value in that case, but in my opinion he is worth keeping. One hitter for Lincecum I would pull the trigger on though

I, on the other hand, am not a big Jackson guy. I am in the "sell high" opinion.

I'd take a shot on Austin for a pitcher, in a heartbeat. However, I don't know if Linc is the right arm to target. I am seriously concerned about him.

Move Austin for the best available arm "on the block" and move on happily.
