Drop J.Montero for S. Perez? WHIR

Postby Wiserman20 » Thu Jul 05, 2012 11:58 am

ESPN H2H 10 team Redraft Standard Points League. I'm tied for 1st in my division ($ league)

I traded Cuddyer earlier in the year for J.Montero when he got C eligibility, and he's killed me over the passed 30 days. 6 total points!

Should I cut bait and drop Montero for Salvador Perez (KC) off waivers - high avg. low K guy, or stick with Montero even if Montero hits the DL after last night?

My current roster

C Jesus Montero, Sea DH, C  DTD
1B Mark Teixeira, NYY 1B
2B Chase Utley, Phi 2B
3B Adrian Beltre, Tex 3B, DH
SS Starlin Castro, ChC SS

OF Angel Pagan, SF OF
OF Torii Hunter, LAA OF
UTIL Corey Hart, Mil OF, 1B
UTIL Mike Trout, LAA OF
UTIL Alfonso Soriano, ChC OF
UTIL Norichika Aoki, Mil OF

Bench Matt Kemp*, LAD OF  DL15
Bench Lance Berkman*, StL 1B, OF  DL15

I'e never been a Montero fan; I prefer Perez much more. Additionally, I prefer players who are on better teams....KC will score more runs than Seattle.

I think Perez has a real good chance of putting up some nice numbers in KC. He is healthy and rested and playing in a pretty decent lineup. I say do it.

Thanks for looking into mine.

I struggled with this myself and ended up picking up Perez and held on to Montero (for now). I would say do it though. Although I think Montero will have an improved second half, I think Perez will be the better of the two. Good luck.

I hear you Murph especially since I traded for Montero. But unless he completely 180s and blows up the 2nd half, you have to give the logical edge to Perez.

Better team, better hitters park, better minor league avg. I get that the bigs can turn rookies around pretty quickly, but if we're splitting hairs, i'm going with Perez.

At least the K's SHOULD be lower. I'm sick of losing 1 to 3 points a game with Montero. He's -5 last 15 games for me, 6 last 30.

;-D If there is a way to hold both I would. I do prefer Perez slightly
