Kershaw-Cargo or Bumgarner/Parker -McCutch Keeper Question

Postby kool38 » Wed Jul 04, 2012 11:52 pm

UPDATE!!:
I'm in a 12 team keeper(we keep 12 players)(6x6 roto league).
I'm thinking of upgrading my OF.

Which trade, if either would you pursue:

I give Kershaw; I get CarGo (UPDATE!!!: Owner will add either Goldschmidt or Desmond Jennings)

or

I give Bumgarner/Jarrod Parker/Frieri; I get McCutch

Any recommendations would be helpful.
Leave a link and I'll reply to your request.

I would prefer the straight up Kershaw-CarGo deal. Reason being that you have 12 keepers as I see it at the moment, giving up 3 keepers for 1 would be more advisable if you had a surplus of quality keepers. I would prefer Bumgarner/Parker/Frieri in a keeper league over Kershaw. CarGo being slightly more valuable than Cutch makes it my choice. I could see a point being made for doing the McCutchen deal, then adding Davis + Betancourt as keepers. Maybe I'm too high on Parker and Frieri because of their studly first halves? Nice team by the way.

Thanks for looking at mine.
You got some tough choices there. I love McCutchins so I am bullish on doing just about whatever it takes to get him on my team right now. He is coming into his prime and has really become a rare player that does it all.

That being said. Keeper leagues are different since you have to think about the future as well, but I still lean towards the McCutchins deal.
(are these already proposed or are you just thinking about them, could you get a younger pitcher or something in the McCutchins deal to lessen the blow a bit)

Personally, I prefer Cutch over Cargo, but being a keeper league where you're giving up three guys makes me weary. However, Kershaw is a good keeper obviously and Cutch is really coming into his own now, where his stats will be more equal both home and away. My preference is Cutch if you can afford losing three. Thanks for your help with mine.

I would vote the 3 for 1 for Cutch, and keep Kershaw.

There are a lot of mid range quality arms available these days, and you can always find saves.

Thanks for the help on mine.

I think I would take the first deal Kershaw for Cargo. Both players are great and would provide a boost in offense. But, they are very close in stats. I MIGHT even prefer Bumgardner over kershaw at this point. So if I were you, I would be willing to lose kershaw for cargo

That's a tough call but I would probably do the Kershaw deal. I would hate to give him up in a keeper league but you are getting a good return and not giving up three potential keepers as you would be in the other deal. Maybe keep looking around before you do either deal?? Best of luck.

In a non-keeper, I would do the Kershaw-Cargo deal. But giving up Kershaw next year is risky. Your pitching is good, but not great, and keeping Kershaw as the anchor for next year is what I would do.

I would hate to lose the players in the other deal also, in a keeper. If I had to choose, I would take the Cutch deal.

Thanks for help with mine.

I would do Kershaw for Cargo all day! He'll throw in Jennings too? Do I understand that correctly? Yes please and thank you!
