Which 2 for my Adam Jones? WHIR

Postby CubsFan4Life23 » Tue Jul 03, 2012 9:38 pm

So I am currently shopping around Adam Jones. We keep 6 per year and I have more than enough potential keepers to go around, so I am trying to strengthen my team for a push at winning this year. This team is interested in Jones, and I am wanting to see what I could get in return for him from a pool of his players.

Hosmer, Bruce, Gallardo, JZimmerman, Hanson, Cliff Lee, and I Kennedy (he wants to do a 2 for 1)

10 Team H2H (5x5, OBP replaces AVG), keeper (we keep 6) Possible keeper have * by their name.
My team:
C- Posey*
1B - Miggy*
2B - Kipnis*
SS - Andrus
3B - Prado
OF - Kemp*
OF - Braun*
OF - AJones*
U - Pence
U - Rasmus

Bench - Rizzo*
Bench - Ploufee

Than ks for the help.

Bruce and Lee would be my picks. You'll need Bruce to replace Jones in the OF, and Lee will give you another stud in your rotation.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

Who would you drop if you have to do a 2-1?

If you do the deal, I think I would try and get two SP. You have plenty of OF depth if you deal Jones and you could use some combo of Lee/Gallardo/Zimmermann/Kennedy.

I like the idea of 2 sp as well, I think you have guys to play at OF without picking one up in the trade. If you feel like you have to replace a hitter, bruce is your man.

help me please?

I have a different viewpoint than most, in the sense that I'd trade Adam Jones for Bruce and Lee or Hanson.
You always want to have the best players in the deal. I think that by getting Bruce and Hanson/Lee you improve your team and set yourself up for future deals, potentially for a dominant SP like Kershaw(for Bruce and Bumgarner).

Id recommend the following as keepers:

1B - Muggy*
OF - Kemp*
OF - Braun*
OF - Bruce*

I would honestly stay put. Jones already has 20 bombs and would definitely be a keeper next year. Kid is figuring it out and will be ranked a Tier 1 no less than 2 OF next year.
You could have Kemp, Braun, and Jones in the OF. wow!

I don't believe Bruce + Lee (who I agree would be the two you need to take) is that big of a plus. UNLESS Lee goes on a tear and wins every game from here on out.

Even still, your staff isn't complete garbage.

I say win the year with that lineup, and then keep Jones next year.

Rizzo or Kipinis

It's the new age of the arms. I would keep as many solid bats as you can. Quality arms are abundant even in a keeper league.. just ask R.A Dickey

I'd probably go Gallardo and Bruce. Lee is in there, but Gallardo/Bruce are better long-term keeper options as well, while at the same time helping you win this year.

Here's mine, any help appreciated: viewtopic.php?t=450002
