Read today that Berkman will be back at some point in July. Here's my question: I feel really good about my hitters (Posey, Gonzalez, Zobrist, Lawrie, Castro, Holliday, Rasmus, Ethier, Han Ramirez, Middlebrooks, Harper, Utley, Howard (DL), and Kemp (DL).
Would you take a chance at another DL guy in Berkman?
There are other guys on my WW like Cuddyer, Choo, and Youkilis that I could move on if I need to down the line, I'm just trying to plan for the last months of the season. If I could solidify my line-up for August/September I could use my remaining roster moves on pitching help (if needed).
I think Rasmus and Middlebrooks are your only weak spots and they could very well have a nice second half. If they start to teeter off you can look into snagging Berkman for now but otherwise I'd stay with what you have.
Looks like a fairly shallow league. You're getting Kemp and Howard back soon too. That means you're going to need to cut 2 additional players to make room for those guys. I don't see a spot for Berkman, which stinks because he's a great hitter. I could see him out producing guys like Middlebrooks & Utley from a UTL position standpoint, but those are likely (maybe Rasmus too) the guys you cut to add your DL'd players. I'd wait a bit longer.
Yeah, with Howard/Kemp coming back, I will have a couple decisions to make. I've been trying to tinker with the idea of a 2-for-1 trade with someone to gain something back for a trade but don't know what direction to go. I was thinking of monitoring my guys like Rasmus/Middlebrooks or pitchers like Lynn/Harrison/Cashner if/when I need to make a move.
