Trying to Deal Excess Offense WHIR

Postby germani40 » Sun Jul 01, 2012 11:18 pm

With Utley returning and Davis and Hosmer starting to hit a bit I think it is time to deal my extra offense.

I am targeting a team to deal with that is in need of rebuilding.

12 team keeper keeping up to 16 per year

My roster is in my sig

HIS ROSTER
C Carlos Ruiz (Phi - C)
1B Adam LaRoche (Was - 1B)
2B Aaron Hill (Ari - 2B)
3B Edwin Encarnacion (Tor - 1B,3B)
SS Rafael Furcal (StL - SS)
OF Matt Holliday (StL - OF)
OF Ichiro Suzuki (Sea - OF)
OF Torii Hunter (LAA - OF)
Util Omar Infante (Mia - 2B)
Util Yonder Alonso (SD - 1B,OF)
SP Max Scherzer (Det - SP)
SP Hiroki Kuroda (NYY - SP)
RP Casey Janssen (Tor - RP)
RP Addison Reed (CWS - RP)
P Josh Johnson (Mia - SP)

P James McDonald (Pit - SP)
P Phil Hughes (NYY - SP)
BN Zack Cozart (Cin - SS)
BN Bryan LaHair (ChC - 1B,OF)

BN Carl Crawford (Bos - OF) DL
BN Josh Vitters (ChC - 3B)NA
BN Ryan Dempster (ChC - SP)DL

I was going to try to start the negotiations with this deal. Is this good enough? If not where should I go from here. I want at least one of the hitters (Holliday or EE) and one pitcher (Johnson or Kuroda)

I give
Dunn
Reddick
Lee
Moustakas

I Get
Holliday
Encarnacion
Kuroda
Johnson

I like the trade for you, Encarnacion in a solid piece to get along with Josh Johnson. Thanks for the help on mine ;-D

I also like the deal because Dunn's value is not really going to get any better than it is now, even over the course of the next few years probably.

I agree with the others, this looks like a solid deal for you. Plus Encarnaceon gives you 1st and 3rd base eligibility.

You can start with that, but most likely the other guy just hits decline in about 1 second. Carlos Lee is worth next to nothing and Dunn..well is Dunn and no one really believes enough to pay for him at this point. Moustakas is Ok and Riddick is a star in the making but does not have a long track record.

In return you are asking for two established stars (Holliday and Johnson), E5 who I suppose is on par Riddick this year, and a very decent\serviceable SP in Kuroda who is on par with Moustaksas I suppose. That basically turns into Holliday and Johnson for Carlos Lee and Adam Dunn which does not pass the muster imo and I do not see why you would think the other guy would be interested in it.

I like that trade a little less for you with giving up Cliff Lee. But he has not looked like the Lee of old... Getting Holliday and E5 are pretty big names too. It is a pretty good trade but if you are trying to deal excess offense you may not want to give up a pitcher like Cliff Lee but I do not know because you did not post your team so I can not see the depth of it.

I would target a starting pitcher with your excess offense if I were you.
