Pujols for Braun

Postby Adelais » Sun Jul 01, 2012 11:26 am

This is an 8-team H2H standard 5X5 non-keeper league (money league too). My team flat out STINKS because of guys underperforming...Let me know what you think about this trade. ALso, in case it's pertinent, Crawford is still an FA...

I GIVE Pujols and Latos

I GET Braun

I GIVE Pujols and Sale

I GET Braun and Scherzer

Which should I do if any?

My team:

C: Molina
1B: Pujols
2B: Zobrist
3B: ARam
SS: Dee Gordon
IF: Teixeira
OF: Cruz
OF: J-Upton
OF: Victorino
Util: Rizzo
BN: Napoli
BN: Middlebrooks
BN: Utley
DL: Gardner

SP: Brett Myers (RP)
SP: Kershaw
SP: Sale
SP: Gallardo
SP: Moore
RP: Papelbon
RP: Hanrahan
P: Feiri
BN: Clippard
BN: Doubront
BN: Fister
BN: Kuroda
BN: Chen

Should I do either of these trades?

I personally wouldn't do either..I think if you hang tight your team will definitely come around, you have some very good talent. I have some players that are having a rough time right now and have all year (J Upton, H Kendrick, Hosmer, etc.) and its very frustrating so I understand your wanting to make a trade, but Pujols will DEFINITELY perform this year and I think to do one of these wouldn't get you the payoff that you're ultimately looking for (even though Braun is a stud).

Thanks for the help on mine! :-)

Pujols is gonna be just fine this year - will probably get super hot at some point. I understand if you're looking to get Braun, but letting go of Pujols AND Latos or Sale doesn't seem right to me. And while Scherzer can be brilliant, he has a tendency to absolutely fall apart. I would NOT trust Scherzer in the second half of the season.

That being said, I recently traded Kershaw myself, 'cause with his foot condition (plantar fascitis), I have a feeling he's destined for the DL - perhaps for awhile. I figured I would trade him while he's still pitching pretty well, and fortunately, I got some fairly high-value players. You might want to try the same, 'cause chances are good he's gonna be taking a seat for awhile - perhaps a LONG while.

I would stay put... I know Pujols has been a pain but he is turning it around a ton and he is going to catch absolute fire soon. I just would not do either I value Pujols very highly and giving up Latos with him for Braun is not worth it to me... and with the other one Scherzer is too up and down to give up Sale. Maybe give up Sale later in the year to a guy that does not realize his innings limit that he is going to have.
